Litha 2025, often known as the summer season solstice, is a big occasion within the Wiccan and Pagan calendar. It marks the longest day of the 12 months within the Northern Hemisphere and is a time of celebration, fertility, and progress.
The summer season solstice has been celebrated for hundreds of years by many cultures around the globe. In historic Greece, it was generally known as the pageant of Helios, the solar god. In Rome, it was celebrated because the Feast of Vesta, the goddess of the fireplace. And in Celtic cultures, it was generally known as Beltane, a pageant honoring the god of fireside.
